Every year, the world’s leading advertising and communications professionals gather in Singapore for the start of Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity to learn, network and exchange ideas.

Bringing together the best creative thinkers from around the the globe, the festival offers seminars and workshops focusing on the future of creativity in the Asia region. This year, Weber Shandwick’s Lydia Lee will take the stage to engage industry experts on Eastern Promise – How China is Transforming Global Communications.

Lydia Lee is Chief Strategist & Executive Vice President of Weber Shandwick China and Head of Technology for Weber Shandwick Asia Pacific. In 2015, she was listed as one of HotTopics’ 100 Most Influential Tech Agency PR Executives in the World and more recently named one of Campaign Asia’s 40 Women To Watch.

Fluent in four languages and with professional experience spanning multiple continents, Lydia’s expertise in cross-cultural communications is recognised throughout the world.  Her session will explore how China became China – how and why it grew into the most advanced (and profitable) e-commerce/social media market in the world. And, just as crucially, what trends continue to drive the market’s growth today.

Weber Shandwick India’s Chief Executive Officer, Valerie Pinto, is also taking part at Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity. With over 20 years’ experience in communications and reputation building, Valerie will be part of the PR category jury to judge the winning entries from across the region.

Recently named Creative Leader of the Year 2017 at Campaign 360’s inaugural Women Leading Change Awards, Valerie champions an agenda of diversity and gender equality in India and was a key driver of the Daughters of Mother India campaign.

She has previously been a part of 2016’s Cannes Lions jury and served as Jury President for 2015’s Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity.

Eastern Promises: How China Is Transforming Global Communications will be presented at 12pm on the Spotlight Stage as part of Spikes Asia’s Market Focus sessions on Wednesday 27th September.
